Is it one of the holiest part of the year and is celebrated on the 15th day of 4th month as per the Tibetan calendar. It was this day, Lord Buddha was born. This is a one day festival and is celebrated all over the Ladakh. The festival is started with the monks chanting the prayers in the morning and by noon food is offered to the poor. By evening the second prayer starts and later the lighting starts where everyone light the cancels in front of the idol of buddha.
